In 2016, the artist was named a MacArthur Fellow.

Vincent Fecteau is a sculptor; from early photo-collage works to pieces executed in the media of foam core, resin clay, found objects and papier-mâché, Fecteau takes an intuitive approach towards the manipulation of materials. At once formal experiments and manifestations of a highly personal exploration of art-making and its attendant resonances, Fecteau’s work eschews any ideology in favor of a focused yet open-ended approach to practice and engagement with fundamental concerns. Highly refined yet executed, generally, in humble materials and at an approachable scale, Fecteau’s art is highly accessible to those interested in a contemporary encounter with the media of sculpture.
