MISAKO & ROSEN is pleased to announce the debut exhibition in Japan of artist Vincent Fecteau. Born in Islip, NY (1969), Fecteau is presently based in San Francisco. A selection of solo and group exhibitions includes Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh (2018 / 2013), Art Institute of Chicago (2016 / 2008), Secession, Vienna (2016), Kunsthalle Basel (2015), The Glass House, New Canaan (2014), Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2012 / 2002), San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (2008) and Midway Contemporary Art, Minneapolis (2003). In 2016, the artist was named a MacArthur Fellow.

Vincent Fecteau is a sculptor; from early photo-collage works to pieces executed in the media of foam core, resin clay, found objects and papier-mâché, Fecteau takes an intuitive approach towards the manipulation of materials. At once formal experiments and manifestations of a highly personal exploration of art-making and its attendant resonances, Fecteaufs work eschews any ideology in favor of a focused yet open-ended approach to practice and engagement with fundamental concerns. Highly refined yet executed, generally, in humble materials and at an approachable scale, Fecteaufs art is highly accessible to those interested in a contemporary encounter with the media of sculpture.
